Divest Tyne & Wear
The UK invests 3% of the shared pension fund into fossil fuel companies worldwide. Continuing the development of coal, oil, and gas resources despite many local authorities declaring a climate emergency in 2019.
One simple step for climate action is the transition away from fossil fuels, and opting to support green technologies instead.
Divest Tyne & Wear is campaigning to free our 3% from fossil fuel investment.
Step by step;
- Immediately stop new investments in fossil fuels
- Remove all investment from fossil fuel companies by 2026
- Reinvest the 3% into the Green Economy
By changing the way that we invest our money, and achieving these shared goals we will help secure a more sustainable future for the North East.
